KNITTED BY YOUR SKIN WISDOM® GRANDMA

In a perfect world, we should all wash the day away with a super soft cloth hand knitted by a very special grandma.… So, we found you one.

Gillian knits in rural Cheshire. Surrounded by farmland and the sound of cows, sheep and tractors – and has never met a cat (or a cake) she doesn’t like. As a passionate garden bird enthusiast, Gillian knits away watching her favourite goldfinches, chaffinches and woodpeckers on the feeders, and YouTube videos of derelict Irish farmhouse renovations. Fuelled by Earl Grey Tea and love from her husband Mike – who after 42 years has long learned to screen out the constant clicking of her knitting needles. (Which by the way even precedes him, she bought them in the 70’s.)

Lovely Gillian has made us a facecloth that is surprisingly durable yet incredibly gentle. Made to stay soft and keep its shape, for a very long time. Like something passed down through generations.

LOVE FROM THE VERY FIRST STITCH

A lot of thought has gone into the creation of our wise little cloth. Gillian and Ingrid spent six months just testing and finding the right yarn type. One that was substantial yet with a soft and luxurious feel. Many, many stitching samples later, they knew they had found ‘the one’ – a chunky quality yarn from Debbie Bliss (known for beautiful luxury fibres, perfect blends and adored by knitters everywhere). This 47% Cotton, 47% Acrylic and 6% Nylon blend was the sweet spot: durable, soft, and perfect for everyday use.

After trialling a variety of different stitch patterns and designs, they decided upon stocking stitch for its smoothness, and added a moss stitch border to neatly ‘frame’ it.

Each cloth uses 1 ball of yarn, and it takes Gillian nearly four hours to complete each knit, including hand stitching and attaching the 100% cotton labels and the handy branded drying loop. Gillian then hand blocks the cloths to even out the stitches, which smooths and finesses the surface, after which she pins the cloth to a blocking board ensuring the cloth is a perfect square, and then steams to set and waits for it to naturally fully dry. Giving you a very special SKIN WISDOM® Revival Knit, that will continue to hold its finished shape.

THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO A GOOD FACE CLOTH

The versatile dual-sided design allows you to choose the side best suited for your cleansing routine, skin type and current skin condition.

On one side, the textured knitted surface gently polishes dull and congested skin – boosting circulation to enhance skin tone, revealing a smoother and clearer complexion.

On the other side the soft and smoothly knitted surface provides a hyper-clean cleanse, wiping away makeup and “lifting” impurities and surface debris by gently cleansing the skin (without tugging, rubbing or scrubbing).

Combined, the two sides work seamlessly to remove dirt, oil and every trace of makeup, sunscreen and other product buildup.

And if you have hypersensitive skin, don’t worry, our face cloths were created specifically with you in mind – the textured size too.

YOUR SKIN IS ABSOLUTELY GOING TO LOVE THIS

After applying your cleanser, soak your revival knit with warm water, wring out the excess and lay flat across the face for a few seconds to gently steam skin. Fold the towel around your hand and wipe in circular motions, taking special care around the delicate eye area.

Rinse well with water and hang to dry with the super convenient loop hook.

CARE FOR YOUR CLOTH, WITH LOVE FOR THE PLANET

Needless to say, a reusable, organic, quality and knitted cloth – that is both sourced and made in the UK – is already pretty great for the environment. And so much more sustainable than disposable wipes and cotton wool pads.

Now let’s keep the goodness going

The very best way to care for your cloth, so it can continue to care for you longer, is to simply hand wash in warm water. (Alternatively, machine wash at 30°C). Keeping your delicate cloth white and silky soft with biodegradable natural alternatives to bleach only. Because non-toxic, non-abrasive detergents and stain removers are not only good for your skin – they are good for everyone.

Avoid very high temperatures. Do not tumble dry or iron. Air dry only. Avoid using chemical bleach and fabric softener. Wash with similar colours.
